Fulton/Masonic Albertsons to reportedly remain open (but never past 10PM!)

Today's SFGate reported the two SF Albertsons stores that will be closing, and ours is not on that list.

And can you tell that I'm a little bitter about the 10PM closing time? They literally ran me out of the store at 9:59PM last night...

I wish they would close. That store sucks much ass.

Their prices are high, the quality of their produce is very low and the lines are long as hell.

No good wines, no good cheeses, the deli sucks, the video rental hag is quite the bitch.

I can't wait for Faletti's. Fuck Albertson's.

I wholeheartedly agree with the anonymous poster. Fortunately, Albertson's liquor license is up for review.

As a member of the NOPNA Board, I would ask the NOPNA ask Alberson's to carry better wine and beer with the threat of opposing the license.

I'd love to hear the opinion of other Board members on this. NOPNA's been Alberson's whipping boy since it's been built. Why not take a stand on this? Thanks.

I hear you about their wine and produce selection, but Albertson's isn't supposed to be gourmet--it's a standard mid-scale grocery store, and it would serve that role just fine if it were OPEN LATER and had FASTER CHECKOUTS.

Run Albertson's out and we'll just get a Whole Foods or a Mollie Stone's--you think Albertson's is expensive?!--and then you no longer have a place to go to buy your laundry detergent and your peanut butter. Plus you compete with Faletti's, which I really want to see succeed.

tjp,
It would be nice to see Albertsons carry good food for a reasonable price, but maybe that's too much to ask for.

I'd take bad food at lower prices, and later hours, but that won't happen either. No, we'll have to take the franchise Hell they give us and ask no questions for that is America's way.

As McDonald's says, "I'm loving it!"

What/where is Faletti's? Am I missing something great?

Faletti's was in the building that was demolished to make way for the Fulton Plaza development, and will return to the new Broderick place development across from the DMV. Last I heard, they expect to open in September, which seems likely given the progress at the site.
