What about that Cafe Daebul?
So,
the legend is that the dark, quiet place across from Albertsons on Fulton, Cafe Daebul ('Devil' in Korean) is some sort of house of ill repute.
These are, of course, only rumors and I personally have no proof of anything.
Some say 'let sleeping dogs lie' some say 'inappropriate for the neighborhood',
some say 'victimless crime' some say 'women being exploited'...
what do you think?

the biggest question is, what's worse: the mysterious Daebul, or another vacant storefront on an already blighted block?
Tax records show that the same guy owns all of those buildings on that end of the block:
1769-75 Fulton is a 4 unit building
1777 Fulton is a 2 unit building
Public records show the owner as:
Karim A. Salma, Trustee
P.O. Box 706
Burlingame, CA, 94011
That's a total of six units, at least a couple of which are residential. Imagine how great that corridor would be with four locally-owned businesses/restaurants instead of the vacant and questionable usage that we currently have...
I don't have an suggestion about how to handle this, but there is one person that can be contacted about the whole project if anyone cares to follow up.
Thanks for the information Matt. I personally do not want a house of ill repute in my neighborhood if that is indeed what Cafe Daebul is.
To me, the place gives the impression it is vacant anyway so if they were closed down because they were running an illegal operation there, I don't think it would hurt the area.
They obviously bowed to the tremendous pressure of us talking about them on this blog.......
